What this is all about...
The West Coast Empire has existed now for a little over 10 years in various
incarnations.
Today we're about two things. Providing a way to access comics and other stuff
by mail order online as painlessly as possible. If you don't have a comic shop
in your area it might be difficult to get the titles you're looking for, not to
mention any other sweet junk you want to get your hands on.
How do you get started? Simple. To the left you'll notice all sorts of things.
You can select a publisher or genre of comic you'd like to get and it'll immediately
take you to all the listings for your selection. From there you will be able to
add items to your shopping cart using our hopefully-someday-to-be-patented
SHOPPING CART TECHNOLOGY. YEAAAAHHH!
But doesn't this make you some kind of comic-whore?
Relax. There's also a game here to play. It's been going off and on since
December 4th, 2000. Basically what it involves is you, the user, creating
a character in the mold of a super-hero or super-villain or what have you,
and fighting other characters in a sort of wrestling style federation.
Matches take place every day and usually last two to three days. During that
time other users vote for who they think should or shouldn't win.
Characters win and lose rating points based on the ELO ranking system. Moving
up the standings will earn you shots at better titles, and believe me it's
hard to win them.
